On the morning of March 10th, he was unanimously elected as President People’s Republic of China (PRC) and General Secretary of the Supreme Leader of chairman of the Central Military Commission, People’s Republic of China (PRC). He pressed the Constitution with his left hand and read the oath with his right hand raised.

The solemn oath and commitment fully reflect the high political consciousness of the Supreme Leader as the supreme leader of the Party, the country and the army to respect, uphold and abide by the Constitution, fully reflect the political character and lofty demeanor of the Supreme Leader as the core of the Party, the people’s leader and the commander-in-chief of the army, and fully reflect the firm will and determination of the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the core to uphold the rule of law, govern by the constitution and safeguard the authority of the Constitution.
Constitution is the fundamental law of the country, and it is the general statute of governing the country and safeguarding the country. It has the highest legal status, legal authority and legal effect. As national staff, we must establish constitutional consciousness, abide by constitutional principles, carry forward the spirit of the constitution and fulfill the constitutional mission. China’s Constitution clearly stipulates: "When taking office, state functionaries should openly take the constitutional oath in accordance with the law." The purpose of implementing the constitutional oath system in our country is to show the authority of the constitution, to encourage and educate national staff to be loyal to the constitution, to abide by it, to safeguard it and to strengthen its implementation. Since the implementation of the constitutional oath system, all regions, departments and aspects have conscientiously implemented the legal provisions and carried out constitutional oath activities according to law, which has become an important practice to respect the constitution and the people’s dominant position. When the Supreme Leader took office, he took the constitutional oath according to law, which set an example for safeguarding the authority of the Constitution, defending the dignity of the Constitution and ensuring the implementation of the Constitution. It will certainly further enhance the sense of mission and responsibility of the vast number of state workers in performing their duties according to law, and greatly encourage the whole society to further strengthen constitutional self-confidence, carry forward the constitutional spirit and cultivate constitutional beliefs.
Governing the country depends on the standard, and Anbang depends on the criterion. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the core has attached great importance to comprehensively administering the country according to law, positioned, laid out and enforced the rule of law from the strategic height of the long-term stability of the party and the country, planned and promoted the comprehensive administration of the country according to law in the "four comprehensive" strategic layout, and made historic achievements in the construction and implementation of China’s constitutional system. The constitutional awareness of the whole party and society has been significantly improved, and the socialist rule of law construction has achieved fruitful results. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has made comprehensive arrangements for the development of the cause of the Party and the country in the new era and new journey, and stressed the need to give full play to the important role of the Constitution in governing the country, and to give full play to the role of the rule of law in safeguarding the fundamentals, stabilizing expectations and benefiting the long-term, so as to comprehensively build a socialist modern country on the track of the rule of law. On the way forward, we will surely be able to write a new chapter in China’s constitutional practice in the new era by putting the spirit of the 20th Party Congress into practice, firmly following the rule of law in Socialism with Chinese characteristics, enhancing constitutional consciousness, strengthening constitutional implementation and fulfilling the constitutional mission.
